Such a simple question, but sometimes difficult to answer. Well, today was a great day to introduce this question “Who are you?” to the class since 98% of the students were present! It was great because it gave us an opportunity to begin an assignment on writing descriptions of ourselves that we can look forward to sharing with one another soon.

For the assignment, students spent time brainstorming about themselves using the Bubble Map writing strategy and then turned the bubble map into a draft of an essay about themselves. Tonight for homework, the class will continue thinking about themselves and their learning styles and return in the morning with answers to questions about the things they like and dislike about school and their interests overall. It’ll be exciting to hear what everyone has to say!
